How to use Pegafit KOPPERT
Apply the paste directly to the trunk at a minimum height of 30/40 cm from the ground, or to low-growing trees right where the main branches on the trunk begin. In the case of centuries-old trees, check that there is no possible passage in the roughness of the bark.
1. Prepare a bucket of water and keep it handy to get your hands wet.
2. With wet hands, remove a ball of dough from the container the size of an apple or as needed. Wet your hands with or without paste, to be able to manipulate the tree gum.
3. From the dough ball spread a string at one end by "wrapping" it around the trunk, forming a rubber ring per tree and make one or two, depending on the protection required or the final thickness desired. For very large or very rough logs, a wider band can be prepared directly by pulling both ends
4. To finish the band or cord, join the two ends by going around the trunk and cutting the leftover tree rubber, either with scissors (wet, which can be carried inside the bucket of water) or with a tear with both hands, breaking the dough due to excess tension.
How long does it last
8 to 10 weeks. The duration may vary depending on the ambient dust and the number of insects present. Pegafit is water-resistant.
In susceptible fruit trees (very young trees) direct application to the trunk can cause necrosis of the bark. To avoid this, cover the desired trunk area with waterproof paper and apply PEGAFIT to it.
Bird protection: Avoid applying the product to horizontal branches to avoid catching insectivorous birds.
Avoid the growth of grasses to prevent harmful insects from climbing the tree around the area where the product has been applied. Periodically check that the adhesive band is not saturated with insects.
