Characteristics of the different varieties of Olive Panta for Mensa:

Ascolana Table Olive Tree

Cultivar native to the province of Ascoli Piceno, it is moderately vigorous, with dense foliage. The fruit is about 8-10 grams. 
The plant has a good resistance to cold, peacock's eye. and mange. It matures early and has a high and constant productivity. The yield at the mill is 16-18%.

Bella di Spagna Table Olive Tree

Bella di Spagna is a variety widespread in Puglia. The plant is vigorous and the foliage dense. The fruit, with consistent pulp, is about 10-12 grams in size. Resistant to adverse weather conditions and tolerant to mange and peacock's eye. 

Yield at the mill: 16-18%.
Good productivity  

Carolea Table Olive Tree

Carolea is a variety native to Calabria. The plant, of medium vigour, has a compact and thick foliage. It produces olives of about 4-8 grams, with pulp of good consistency.

Production is constant and good. The oil yield at the mill is: 18-20%. It is sensitive to attacks by the olive fly.

Olive Tree Sweet Olive

The Sweet Olive variety has an expanded habit, with thick foliage, medium-low vigour and discreet productivity. The olives are large, weighing about 4 grams and green/purplish black in color.

The fruits ripen early (September) and harvesting is done by hand. The fruit can be eaten as soon as it is harvested from the plant. 

Nocellara Belice Table Olive Tree

The Nocellara Belice variety is a widespread cultivar in Sicily. It has a pendulous habit and is of medium vigor. The olives are medium-large, weighing 6-8 grams and with a consistent pulp. The ideal environment is the center and the south.

It is sensitive to mange and peacock's eye, but tolerant of the olive fly. Production is high and constant.

Yield at the mill:   15-18% 

Nocellara Etnea Table Olive Tree

The Nocellara Etnea variety  is characterized by a high but alternating fruiting, thick foliage with a pendulous habit. The olives are large (weighing 4-8 grams). The pulp yield is between 85 and 90 %. 
It is resistant to mange and also to the olive fly.

The Pigeon Egg variety is a plant of moderate vigor, with expanded foliage and early ripening. The olives are large, weighing 8-10 grams.

It has a good resistance to climatic adversities (cold), cycloconium (peacock's eye) and mange. Production is medium-high and constant.

Nocellara Messinese Canteen Olive Tree

The Nocellara Messinese variety is a Sicilian cultivar, which is vigorous, with an expanded habit. The oplive are large, weighing 6-8 grams. 

The yield at the mill is about 18%

Itrana Table Olive Tree

The Itrana variety is very vigorous, with late ripening (February March). The olives have an intense and fruity flavor.
