Ethrel Stimulating Plant Growth Regulator Bayer Etefon
Ethrel Bayer is a plant growth regulator that is a concentrated soluble stimulant of the colouring and ripening processes of the following crops: tomato, tobacco, apple and olive. 1 liter bottle - PATENTINO.
Ethrel can be used on tomato, olive, apple and tobacco.
- On processing tomatoes:
To standardize ripening, carry out 2 interventions, the first when 50% of the fruit is ripe and with temperatures above 25 °, with a good foliage you can perform a single intervention at 200-300 cc per hectoliter using 1000 L of water per hectare. This type of intervention, while accelerating and evening out ripening, reduces the tomato hold and will have to start processing quickly. With lower temperatures, around 15°, 2 or 3 interventions are recommended, the first at 200 cc per hl, the second after 7 days with a dose of 100 cc per hl, or 3 interventions 7 days apart with a dose of 100 cc per hl using 1000 L per hectare.
- In the case of market tomatoes we recommend:
3 or 4 interventions 7 days apart at 50/60 cc in 100 L, using 1000-1500 L of solution for each hectare. By doing so, the tomato will retain its freshness and the peduncle will remain green and the tomato will retain a long self-life.
- On apple tree:
It is used as a thinning agent, with temperatures around 25°, a single treatment can be made from well-spread flower bunches at full flowering at a dose of 300-600 cc per hectare in 1500 liters of solution. Since the level of humidity can greatly influence the good result, it is preferable to divide the treatment: the 1st treatment at 350 cc per hectare in 1500 liters of water in spread-out bunches with hint of flowering, and a second intervention with the same dose to small fruits formed with a size from 10 to 20 mm.
- On olive oil, to facilitate the detachment of the drupes on varieties that are difficult to detach, we make a first intervention at 18-20 days before harvesting at 75 cc per hl with 1250 liters of solution, and 7 days after a second intervention at 100 cc per hl always with 1250 liters of solution per hectare.
- On table olive trees use the same method
Active ingredient: Ethephon 39.6 % (= 480 g/L)
Benefits of using this product:
Applied to apple trees, it regulates vegetative development, regulates the alternation of production and improves production in terms of quality and quantity.
Once absorbed by the vegetation, it releases ethylene and accelerates and makes the colouring and maturation of the aforementioned crops more homogeneous.
It facilitates mechanical harvesting, allows you to schedule collections and reduces the number of collections.
On olive trees, it favors the detachment of the drupes and therefore facilitates harvesting.
Tips for adequate use on tomatoes:
The use of the Ethrel Bayer plant growth regulator on tomatoes causes an early and simultaneous ripening of all the fruits, but has a depressing effect on the plant and a yellowing of the stalk, which does not worry in the case where the product is intended for the processing industry, on the contrary it facilitates its detachment.
In the event that the tomato is destined for the market, the yellow stalk and star give the sensation of an old and diseased fruit and therefore depreciated.
To avoid this effect, the stimulating plant growth regulator Bayer Ethrel can be used at a dose of 50/70 cc per 100 litres, when the fruit is red and other interventions (at the same dose) can be carried out after 5/7 days, until it is completely ripe.
The fruits treated in this way will have a beautiful red color and a beautiful fresh appearance.
